Some Common faults include:
◦ Vehicle won’t start and steering doesn’t unlock.
◦ Noisy or slow steering lock when key is inserted into EIS.
◦ Key will turn in Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS / EZL) but will not start.
◦ No dash lights when turning key in the Electronic Ignition Switch.
◦ Electronic steering lock (ESL / EVL) cannot be heard when key is inserted.
◦ Steering wheel cannot be turned, even with key inserted.
◦ The steering lock is OFF with no key in the ignition .
We have 2 options available!
Option 1
We can remove and replace your existing ESL with a re-condition unit and get the steering lock back working how it should be. This will include programming the new unit to the vehicle.
(All re-conditioned units are tested before fitting and come with 12month warranty)
Option 2
This is the cheapest option if the steering lock fails in the off position! This option is to bypass the electronic steering lock with a ESL / ELV emulator. Once the emulator is programmed to the vehicle, this will essentially bypass the steering lock allowing the car to start. This will also eliminate the steering lock from failing again in the future as it is no longer active but by using the emulator, this also means you will NOT have a steering lock active when you remove the key from the ignition.
(All ESL / ELV emulators come with a lifetime warranty.)

ESL Repair
For ESL (Electronic steering lock) repair all you need to do is send us your
◦ EIS- Electronic ignition switch
◦ A working key for the vehicle
◦ ESL / ELV - Electronic steering lock
If you are unable to remove the ESL / ELV because it is in the locked position you can send us the steering column with lock attached and we can safely remove it causing no damage. (Addition P+P May Apply)
We will return your EIS, key and ESL all programmed ready to plug and play, if you send the steering Colum we will return the column with either a re-condition ESL fitted or a ESL emulator, which ever you choose.
ESL Emulator
If you only require a ESL / ELV emulator all we need is your,
◦ electronics ignition switch (EIS)
◦ A working key for that vehicle
We will return your EIS and key to you, but will also send you an ESL emulator.
This emulator will bypass your existing electronic steering lock.
It will arrive pre-programmed and comes with lifetime warranty!
Just unplug the ESL and use that plug to plug into the programmed emulator, the emulator can then just be cable tied up out of the way.
(ESL Must be in the unlocked position or removed for this to be plug and play)
